a research on forgotten gestures - workshop with Ondine Cloez - Lissabon
Danslab summer program Lisboa '21
A RESEARCH ON FORGOTTEN GESTURES
As historians affirm we have no knowledge on Middle Ages gestures. By studying the sources (arquive images and texts) and analysing on how our imagination works, we will create possible narratives of gestures. It will be a fictionnal investigation in the past through our current way of moving. Maybe we find out that we are much closer to Middle Ages than we think.
Ondine Cloez is a performer and choreographer based in Brussels. She studied in PARTS and Exerce (2002). Since then, she has worked with many artists such as Loïc Touzé, Rémy Héritier, Marcos Simoes, Jaime Llopis, Grand Magasin, Linda Samaraweerova, Antoine Defoort & Halory Goerger, a.o. In 2008 she co-signs the project Grand Tourists and the video Some Performances with Sara Manente & Michiel Reynaert. In 2018 she creats her first piece Vacances vacance, followed by L'art de conserver la santé, based on a 13th century book on how to keep your health.
She is currently artist in residency in Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers and is starting a research with the artist Kotomi Nishiwaki.
