A unique voice in Belgium's contemporary music theatre scene, Fleur Khani presents her second large scale piece ZAN: an opera that starts from total moral and societal collapse, and searches to resuscitate itself. In her work Fleur Khani taps into pure potential and hope that emanates from the darkest states of total loss. Her last piece Halleluja won the international Music Theatre Now award for its strong reminder of our communal potency to celebrate when there is nothing left to loose.

In her new piece ZAN, Khani weaves together elements of Persian mythology and history, and plays with them from beyond the grave. Desperate, scared, collective, aggressive and totally bankrupt. Through the lens of Persian heritage, she looks at contemporary horror, to produce a scenery of dust, blood, bodies and shards of mirrors; while the voices and music draw us into a dissociative dreamscape of love.

We are looking for three experienced performers with somatic and vocal practice, based in Belgium. Formal training or education is not necessary, but solid interest and relevant professional experience is. We strongly encourage applications from women, non-binary, and gender-diverse performers, as well as performers from underrepresented backgrounds. We are particularly interested in performers with a proven ability to navigate and perform within culturally complex, layered, and non-Western-dominant contexts. Please note: candidates must already hold the necessary visas/work permits and be able to travel internationally without restriction.

- 18-19 June 2026: auditions (Antwerp)
- 25 August 2026 - 4 September 2026: rehearsals (Brussels)
- 15 - 19 September 2026: rehearsal and premier (Antwerp)
- January - May 2027: international tour

We offer a role as a performer/background singer, freelance or fixed-term contract, in a new contemporary electro-acoustic opera production. Salary and working conditions are provided in accordance with the relevant Collective Labour Agreement (CAO PC 304), ensuring fair and transparent compensation in alignement with Juistisjuist.be.
