ZAN is a powerful, multi-disciplinary new opera exploring themes of liberation and resilience through vocal and somatic opera performance. Inspired by the legendary Persian Simurgh, it incorporates adaptations from Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and activist Narges Mohammadi's writings. Directed by Fleur Khani, with music by Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi, Nazanin Yalda and others, this production is a collaboration between the performers of MA Collective, Fleur Khani, and two mezzo-sopranos.

We are looking for an experienced Music Theatre and/or Opera Producer deeply connected to themes of liberation in the Middle east, social justice, and cultural heritage. This role requires a strategic visionary with a passion for transformative storytelling in new opera, and a strong understanding of European and global funding and production structures in the field of opera and music theatre. The Producer will play a key role in overseeing the production process, from fundraising and budgeting to logistics and marketing.

• Proven experience as a Theatre Producer or in a similar role, ideally within cross-cultural productions.
• Strong network and familiarity with relevant funding bodies, sponsors, and communities aligned with ZAN's themes.
• Excellent organisational, budgeting, and communication skills.
• Passion for projects that address issues of cultural transformation and that push the boundaries of contemporary opera production.

We offer a central role between the different stakeholders and the artistic team during the creation and distribution of this project, with a freelance contract or an employment contract. Fees and payments will be in accordance to the collective labour agreements (pc.304).

The key responsibilities of the Producer are:

• Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production planning and coordi- nation, ensuring smooth execution from rehearsals to final performance, playing a central role in aligning the team with all the coproducing partners.
• Fundraising & Budgeting: Develop (international) funding strategies and manage the production budget effectively, including liaising with sponsors and securing grants.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with the director, musicians, and perform- ers, to align artistic vision with production needs. This includes an experience based knowledge of international visum regulations.
• Marketing & Outreach: Lead marketing efforts to promote ZAN to target audiences, highlighting the opera's themes and artistic relevance, in collaboration with the co-producers and hosting theatres.
• Project Administration: Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling, logistics, and contracts, to support an efficient and cohesive production process.
