over de functie
A Production Manager (perhaps better known as a Technical Manager in Belgium) is responsible for all the physical aspects of a show. They enable the creatives (director, set designer, light designer, sound designer) to turn their vision into physical reality. This can mean anything from giving input on the design concept to ensure it will be realisable within the physical and budgetary constraints, risk assessing everything, constructing (or organising the construction of) set pieces, sourcing bits of set, liaising with the technical department of the theatre, scheduling the load-in and load out, physically managing the load-in and load-out.
Een productiemanager (in België misschien beter bekend als een technisch manager) is verantwoordelijk voor alle fysieke aspecten van een show. Ze stellen de creatievelingen (regisseur, decorontwerper, lichtontwerper, geluidsontwerper) in staat om hun visie om te zetten in fysieke realiteit. Dit kan van alles betekenen: van het geven van input over het ontwerpconcept om ervoor te zorgen dat het binnen de fysieke en budgettaire beperkingen realiseerbaar is, het beoordelen van alles, het construeren (of organiseren van de constructie van) decorstukken, het sourcen van stukken van het decor, het onderhouden van contacten met de technische afdeling van het theater, het plannen van de in- en uitlading, het fysiek beheren van de in- en uitlading.

For this role, we are looking for someone not only very organised and excellent with people but also someone who is technically very competent, knowing what pieces of kit will answer which needs, what is physically possible in any given space and knowing how to problem solve. Please note that while the working language is English, fluency in English is not a requirement! :)
Voor deze rol zijn we op zoek naar iemand die niet alleen heel georganiseerd is en goed met mensen kan omgaan, maar ook iemand die technisch heel competent is, weet welke onderdelen van de kit aan welke behoeften voldoen, wat fysiek mogelijk is in een bepaalde ruimte en weet hoe je problemen oplost. Let op: hoewel de werktaal Engels is, is vloeiend Engels geen vereiste! :)

This is a call for interest to work with us on a project-by-project basis. We currently produce 2-3 productions in Brussels per year, with our next production in April-May 2025.
